Dear Bro. Tony and New Center Church,
We have a member of our church who has had a stroke this morning. He is
only around 40yrs. old. He had a blood clout to go to his brain and that
is what caused the stroke. It has affected his speech and the right side
of his body. The doctor is giving him meds. to dissolve the blood clout.
It is high risk for him but it is the only way they can help him right
now. We know that God can touch his body and can reverse the damage that
is going on. We desire all your prayers for him and his family. We would
appreciate it if you would tell anyone you know who can pray to say a
prayer for him. His name is Ronnie Stipes. His nickname that he goes by
is Boo. Thankyou very much for your prayers. We know your church can get
hold of God.
God Bless You All.

Just a short note from the ‘extended flock’ regarding who we all know
as
“Pastor Tony” really is…
Everyone At New Center Baptist Church knows Pastor Tony as the Pastor of
New
Center Baptist Church in Sevierville, TN…
BUT it goes WAY FURTHER that that! FOR EXAMPLE…New Center Baptist
Churches
Pastor Tony was at the emergency room this last Sunday when one of his own
very beloved members was taken to Sevier County Hospital…BUT we
saw ANOTHER
Pastor Tony looking upon the many times frantic, traumatized folks in the
emergency room that had loved ones that they do not know whether they will
live or die…Pastor Tony noticed a young woman, frantic, shaking like a
leaf,
walking towards her car from the ER struggling to carry an approx. 6 Mo
old
baby in a bassinet in one hand, and leading her approx 2 yr old
daughter in
the other. Pastor Tony found out that the Childrens father was found
with
an apparent drug overdose, and had stopped breathing, and had to be put on
a
breathing machine unresponsive, given little to no hope of surviving.
BY
THIS TIME the beloved member of New Center Baptist Church after much
prayer
got released and went home, He checked further and found this young woman
was all alone, no active family, and friends drove her by her parents
house
to drop off the kids (the parents had disowned her and had never even had
the kids overnight.) Pastor Tony and his awesome wife Tammy, even
though
they had been there for hours, and had a Sunday PM service coming up in a
few hours, sat and waited and waited till that young woman came out from
the
intensive care area to comfort her, who had no one. Eventually
having
prayer with her, offering his and Tammy’s phone number for support ANY
time
she needed it…
Five days later Pastor Tony got a call from the young lady stating her
alternator went out and had no way to visit the still non-responding
childrens dad, and Pastor Tony made a few calls and solved what may seem a
small problem to us, but was a devastating problem to the young woman, but
he took it upon himself to step in seeing a lamb without a Pastor…
LATER that same day an email arrived at Smoky Mountain Gospel from a man
that requested a song that said quote “thank you all, I'm lost without
God.
i need to be saved…” at that same moment the man was emailed back
asking for
his phone number which he returned immediately. A second later we
were on
the phone with Pastor Tony who again dropped what he was doing and called
this brother that just a few days earlier had open heart surgery, and
Pastor
Tony found out he used to be a preacher, who back in 1982 turned his back
on
Jesus, which after prayer between them now brought a Prodigal back into
the
fold very much about the Fathers business, we then received this email
quote
“Bro. Tony thank you for pointing me back to Jesus. JL from
Virginia.
The World Wide Internet knows this gifted song writer, singer, man of God
as
PASTOR TONY, and he is JUST THAT, Pastor to anyone, anywhere in the world,
that is in need, and we, for one, praise God and all heaven above for ever
crossing our paths. What an inspiration he and his family is to not
only
New Center Baptist Church, but our Father has exposed him to ‘the
world’ as
well. If there is someone out there that loves Jesus more than he
does,
well, we just can’t wait to meet him<SMILE>
May God Bless,
servants to all

Dear Tony,
Thanks for you invite to your church. I looked around the web site and
was quite impressed. My spouse and I attend an interdemoninational
church here at home. It is Spirit-filled which means the pastor allows
the Holy Spirit to run the services. I felt after reading your website,
your church is also Spirit filled and that excites me. We will be in the
Great Smokies next week to celebrate my spouse's birthday. Thank you for
your invitation. I enjoy the way you write as well.
I would not have known about you or the church if I had not found
DiscovertheSmokies web site. I choose that web site because it openly
professes Jesus as Lord of All!!

Pastor Tony,
I want to personally thank you for allowing me
the opportunity to share my music ministry and my testimony with you
and your congregation this past Sunday, July 17, 2005 at New Center
Baptist Church. You have a wonderful congregation and a beautiful
sanctuary. Thank you for making me feel at home while I
ministered in singing at your church. I certainly felt the
presence of the Lord while at your church and I enjoyed my visit.
Please consider having me back sometime for another concert.
In HIS Service,
Brother, Larry Smith - Seymour, Tn.

Enjoyed the funeral...yes I ENJOYED hearing about a VIRTUOUS WOMAN, that had
such an impact on many generations, (reminds me of
Timothy's Mom & grandma)
You know what could be one the most awesome sermons every preached?
Sharing what your mamaw discerned as an ungodly path -> JUST
HOLDING UP A PACK OF OLD MAID CARDS and go from them, right thru to the
kids, HELIvision, NUMBtendos etc. Selling our kids out
lock, stock and barrel... I was thinking, old maids TEACHES you to try and
GET ONE OVER or TRICK someone into a lesser situation
AND more importantly desensitizes us that we should HONOR and look up to our
elders, not try and pass them off to anyone we can,
then look at the picture, warts on nose etc etc....Innocent card game...Gods
says to do ALL THINGS to the edifying of the body of
Christ, is playing old maid of God or the adversary?
I cant wait to meet your mamaw, and tell her how awesome a difference she
made it YOUR lives, and IS STILL MAKING A DIFFERENCE AFTER
SHE LEFT...that's HER TESTIMONY, and I believe it would be sinful to let it
die...
May God Bless,
Steve &Carolyn

Thank you for sharing your church with
many viewers. Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could capture the spirit
that's within the walls of the church for all to see. This church looks a
warm and inviting country church. I grew up in WV and have first hand
knowledge of these warm welcoming country churches. This is a place that
I would love to visit while in the smokies but I currently live in VA.
May God richly bless you in your endeavors as you try to reach the lost.
I guess this puts a different twist to going into the byways and hedges and
compelling them to come!!! Keep up the good work.

Heres some info on an awesome CHRISTian friend of many at New Center Baptist Church that blessed us many times singing with The Southern Touch quartet, we ask that all pray for brother Ron Martin:
Southern Touch Updates...
A WORD FROM RON MARTIN
As you know I have been the bass singer with my family for 12 years. I praise God for allowing me to be able to enjoy this awesome ministry with those I love so much. These have been by far some of the happiest moments of my life. Just to be able to stand in the presence of a mighty God and proclaim his gospel in song and word. God had a great plan, when He put Southern Touch together and that great plan is continuing today. He has richly blessed us for our obedience in fulfilling the calling He placed on our lives. The road has not always been smooth and it has not always been easy, but Christ has always been there with us every step of the way.
Hebrews 13 (verse 5); Let your conversation be without covetousness: and be content with such things as you have: for He has said, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. (verse 6); So that we may boldly say that the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
As many of you know I was diagnosed with SLE Lupus a number of years ago. The SLE was caused by damage done to my liver by toxic chemicals. I came in contact with these chemicals, while working for the Blount County Sheriff's Department, and while doing an Arson Investigation. Systemic Lupus is a disease of the immune system which can and does affect various organs, joints and systems of the body. This dehabilitating disease has taken a toll on my health and my ability to function. I've tried never to complain about my problems, even with the pain that I often suffered. I still give Praise, Honor and Glory to God. In all things praise ye the Lord. I just figure He's still working the perfection in my life that extends to realms much higher than the earthly, mortal flesh could even imagine.
1ST Peter 4, (verse 12) Beloved think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: (verse 6); But rejoice, in as much as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad with exceeding joy.
For the past few months, I have been having new health issues. I have been going to a number of Doctors and it has been determined that I have suffered numerous "Mini Strokes". These strokes have now taken a new toll on my physical body. What I once was able to do, has now become nearly impossible for me. The issues that now face me has taken my ability to sing and minister as I have done in the past. Gene and the girls have been taking up the slack and never even complained, but my body requires longer periods of rest now, and my mind is not always as sharp as it once was. We have reduced the number of dates that we book and have tried to keep those as close to home as possible.
Now don't get me wrong here! I serve a miracle working God and He has at various times and in sundry places, performed a great many miracles in my life. I still claim the stripes that Jesus bore for my healing, and I have put this situation into his hands.
At the same time I have learned not to question God, but rather to seek Him. I don't claim to know the mind of God, not even close, but I do know this:
Matthew 6, (verse 31); Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed. (verse 32) (for after all these things do the gentiles seek) for your Heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. (verse 33) But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
With all this in mind. It is now with a great heaviness of heart that I must announce that I have to make the decision to step aside and let the ministry of Southern Touch continue as a Trio. Gene, Teresa, and Jane will continue to carry the Gospel of a risen Savior to a lost and dieing world. I will still fully support this ministry with all my might. I will be there in the midst when I'm able and I will trust God, that someday soon I can once again stand with them and proclaim the awesome glory of God.
I will never forget the wonderful times that I have shared with all you wonderful people. I want to thank you for your prayers and your support. Please continue to pray for me, and always remember to pray for Southern Touch.
Matthew 25 (verse 40) And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
I want to publicly thank Gene, Teresa and my lovely wife Jane for always being there for me. Good times and bad, I knew I could always count on them, and for that I will always be grateful.
I praise God for each and every soul that walked the isle to salvation under our ministry. It was nothing that we did, it was what Christ did through us. To him be the glory forever and ever.
Thank you all and may God richly bless you!
Ron Martin, your brother in Christ.

I’d like to add a ‘great to hear from you ‘mom’ Sutton! You have never met me, but your son Tony has Blessed me and my wife’s life beyond words. We are not even members at New Center yet feel like we grew up their all our lives. When you looked down upon Tony when he was but a newborn baby, did you ever imagine the Lord might bless the child you held in your arms to Pastor such a chosen congregation as is at New Center Baptist Church?
When he sang his first-ever song to you, did you ever imagine that the Lord would inspire your little boy to later in life to write a (many) gospel song(s) that the Lord would Bless and play throughout the world including these countries: Canada, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Sweden, Netherlands, Virgin Islands (British), Germany, United Arab Emirates, Denmark, Egypt, Peru, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Belgium, Estonia, Malaysia and MORE???
The day he first wrote his first and last name on a piece of paper, did you ever imagine that your young child would be soon writing sermons inspired by God, and them being accessible to the entire world???
Mom and Daddy Sutton:…I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for obviously training Pastor Tony in the ‘way he should go’. When you first taught little Tony ‘Jesus loves me this I know’ did you ever imagine he would be telling many folks this from behind a pulpit?
And this email could go on and on…but again, one more time, THANK YOU for, through your son, making our walk on this earth more CHRIST like.

It is so incredible to me that a sense of peace not yet full is coming back. I honestly cant see where I got off track with the Lord and what tripped me up.To me it has been simply incredible that I sense Jesus authority,Love, and presence through you folks in a simple way and it is incredible that that the Pastor reaches out also the way he does.Im sure you folks dont get the 1 hour and 29 minute special there. I suspect that services probably dont end til the holy spirit is done leading and dealing with hearts.Thank You so much for the Love and prayers, Love Brad

Dear Pastor Tony & friends,
Cheerful greetings!
My name is Bob. I'm writing to you all of the way from NY! I tried to
write to you guys a few weeks ago, however, for one reason or another,
it seems you never received it. So..let me try this again. :-)
I just wanted to send a note thanking you and the brethren for the
website. This is a wonderful ministry of outreach. Recently, I've been
largely homebound, at cross-swords with infirmity. I found the website
of the New Center congregation. It has ministered to my heart in this,
my season of adversity. :-) Though I live some 850 miles from
Sevierville, you guys touch my heart with hope. :-)
I'd like to ask the brethren to remember me in prayer. Would this be
alright? Prayers for encouragement as I wander through the valley of
adversity and tackle the mountains of life.
On Sunday mornings, I often find myself wishing I could be there at the
church with you and the brethren. I wish it could be one of the last
things I do before I climb the staircase into eternity. I love the good
people of Sevierville. (I did spell that right -- I hope!!)
Hope to hear from you soon!
Affectionately,
Bob
