Sunshine
Ridge |
|
This week, as we pull in to “Sunshine
Ridge”, we are encouraged to keep going, because there’s joy
in the morning...and morning is almost here!
Has there ever been a time in
your life (perhaps right now) that you have taken inventory of the
seemingly endless problems and struggles you face and thought, “Oh
Lord, how long?” In Psalm 30:5, we find a most encouraging
answer to this question. “... weeping may endure for a night,
but joy [cometh] in the morning.”
We all go through trials. In God’s
word, we see that everyone, from the least to the greatest,
experienced trials. Even David, the man after God’s own heart,
had some pretty tough times. He, like us, experienced illness as
well as God’s healing touch (Ps. 30:2). Like us, people
sometimes said unkind and untrue things about him (Ps. 31:11-13).
He, like us, felt the chastening of the Lord. But just like every
believer, he was given the promise that God's anger would fade
into mercy. (Ps. 30:5) Until the dawning of that final morning,
when Christ takes us home, there will be struggles. But isn’t it
wonderful to know that our troubles cannot follow us there! There
will be no sorrow. Pain will disappear with the darkness. Anxiety
will find no place and every tear will be wiped from our eyes. For
it is sin that causes all our anguish and sin cannot enter there!
There, we will be perfect, just as HE is perfect!
Hallelujah, there is joy in the
morning!!!
In Christ,
Pastor

Ladies'
Group |
|
The Ladies’ and the Youth groups
are still taking donations so they can help the needy families
this Christmas. They are only $300.00 away from their goal but
time is running out! Christmas is just days away! Please donate
and help to make this Christmas a happier time for someone in
need. If God has blessed you (Hasn’t He?), why not allow Him to
use you to bless someone else!
But whoso hath this world's
good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels
[of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? (1
John 3:17)
The Ladies’ Group will meet on
Tuesday, the 21st at 6:00pm to wrap the gifts for the nursing home
and the adopted families; and again on Thursday, the 23rd at
6:00pm to deliver the gifts. |

Be Ready
The Lord wants us to live all
the time as if today would be our last. I believe it was John
Wesley who was asked at one time, "What would you do if you
knew that tonight you would die?" That great preacher of
years gone by said, "I would do exactly what I have scheduled
to do." Could you say that? |
