Wives,
submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord…
Husbands,
love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave
himself for it;
Ephesians 2:22 & 25
If
you have a birthday or anniversary coming up, or if I’ve
forgotten your birthday or anniversary (I’m sorry) please let me

A
Generation of Mules
|
|
"The church today is raising a
whole generation of mules. They know how to sweat and to work hard
but they don't know how to reproduce themselves."
It's not known who said that,
but it is a statement of incredible insight. Mules are hard
workers. They have carried supplies, plowed fields, pulled wagons
and transported people. The only problem is that they are almost
always sterile and thus cannot reproduce. They are hard workers,
but they are the end of the line. They do not produce more like
themselves.
The church is full of hard
workers. They teach classes, serve the physical needs of others,
clean up and mow the grass, cook, move tables, organize social
activities, visit and even write letters and cards, and do a host
of other things. There is just one problem. They don't
"reproduce." They don't teach the gospel to the lost so
others can become hard workers. They are the end of the line.
The real job the Lord gave us is
to go into the world and "reproduce ourselves" by making
disciples of others (Mat_28:18-20). It is a tough lesson to
realize that you may have worked hard and yet still haven't gotten
the job done. Let us say it plainly. If we are not evangelizing,
we are not doing the job completely. If we are nothing more than a
generation of mules, we are on the road to extinction. Hup, Mule!

“For
I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at
hand. (7)
I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my] course, I
have kept the faith: (8)
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me
at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love
his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8

This week, as always, we ask for
your prayers in all areas of this ministry. Such as what God would
have us to teach each week, what the sermon will be, what
questions to ask the children during our games to review for that
day and always, always, prayer that we are good examples for the
kids in and out of Jr. Church. We thank God for the one soul saved
last week. Please pray for little Casey. All our new Christians
need to be nurtured. We "mature" Christians need to
nurture. Remember him in your prayers and that each week we might
rejoice in another little brother or sister coming to Christ. This
week we will be teaching on "getting revenge" (not doing
it, of course) and how that God wants us to handle situations in
which people hurt our feelings or bully us. Pray for guidance.
Thank you parents and grandparents and neighbors that are faithful
to go get and bring in these children.
God bless you,
Bobby and Jr. Church staff |

True Riches

A
tax assessor came one day to a poor minister of the gospel to
determine the amount of taxes he would have to pay. "What do
you possess?" he questioned.
"Oh,
I am very wealthy," replied the minister. "List your
possessions, please," the assessor instructed.
The
man of God replied, "First, I have everlasting life- John3:16.
Second, I have a mansion in Heaven- John14:2.
Thirdly, I have peace that passeth understanding- Philippians
4:7.
Fourth, I have joy unspeakable- 1Peter
1:8.
Fifth, I have divine love that never faileth- 1Corinthians
13:8.
Sixth, I have a faithful, pious wife- Proverbs
31:10.
Seventh, I have healthy, happy, obedient children- Exodus
20:12.
Eighth, I have true, loyal friends- Proverbs
18:24.
Ninth, I have songs in the night- Psalms
42:8.
Tenth, I have a crown of life awaiting- James1:12."
