'" Awake or Asleep "

Eph
5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and
arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
THE
CHURCH
THE CHURCH AS WE KNOW IT IS ASLEEP. IT'S CANDLE IS UNDER
A BUSHEL AND NO ONE CAN SEE THE LIGHT. Matthew 5:15
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a
bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto
all that are in the house. I AM NOT TALKING JUST ABOUT
OUR CONGREGATION OR YOURS, I AM REFERRING TO THE CHURCH
AS A WHOLE. THERE IS ONLY ONE CHURCH! THE CHURCH OFTEN
REFERRED TO BY THE WORLD IS THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, BUT I
FIND IN THE WORD OF GOD, THAT ANY BORN AGAIN BELIEVER IS
A PART OF "THE CHURCH" THAT IS THE BODY OF
CHRIST.
Jon 1:6 So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto
him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy
God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we
perish not.
THE
INDIVIDUAL
WHEN THE CALL COMES FROM GOD, TO HIS SERVICE, WE OFT
TIME FIND OURSELVES WANTING TO RUN FROM HIM. WE HIDE IN
MANY WAYS. EXAMPLE: GOD CALLS FOR OUR SERVICE AS A
MINISTER, WE THEN TAKE ANY AND ALL POSITIONS AVAILABLE.
SUCH AS: TEACHER, DEACON, SONG LEADER, ETC. IT'S GOOD TO
DO ALL THAT WE CAN FOR GOD, BUT IF HE DID NOT CALL YOU
FOR THE POSITION, YOU HOLD, THEN YOU ARE NOT WHERE YOU
NEED TO BE. YOU ARE NOW A HINDRANCE. AFTER a while WE
BEGIN TO BE BURNED OUT. YOU KNOW, IT IS BECOMING A
BURDEN TO DO WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND NOT A JOY. SOON
AFTER THIS YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF ASLEEP IN CHRIST,
WANDERING WHAT HAPPENED. SAYING, HOW DID I GET TO THIS
POINT?
Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art
fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I
will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy
candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
THE
RESULT
THE BIBLE TELLS US TO REMEMBER. WE NEED TO RECALL WHAT
JESUS DID FOR US. WE NEED TO REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS LIKE
TO BE IN THE CENTER OF GOD'S WILL. WE NEED TO REPENT,
TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS, SEEK HIS FACE, AND IF WE
DON'T, THEN HE WILL COME AND REMOVE THE CANDLESTICK,
WHICH IS THE GUIDE, THE JOY, THE DRIVE, THE CLOSENESS.
IN SO MANY WORDS HE IS SAYING, WE WILL BE MISERABLE,
JOYLESS, AND NO VISION. YOU KNOW WHAT I AM SAYING. YOU
BEGIN TO SEE THE FAULTS OF EVERYONE ELSE, YOU DO
EVERYTHING, NO ONE WILL HELP, YOU JUST FEEL LIKE GIVING
UP. PLEASE DO!!! GIVE IT UP!!! THEN LET GOD GIVE IT TO
YOU AS HE SEES FIT. THEN WE WILL FIND THAT WE ENJOY
WORKING FOR GOD. WE ARE NOT SO PUT OUT ANY LONGER.
Psalms 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
and uphold me with thy free spirit.
THE
ANSWER
CALL UPON THE LORD WHILE HE MAY BE HEARD. AS DAVID
CALLED UNTO THE LORD WE NEED TO FOLLOW SUIT. ASK JESUS
TO RESTORE THE JOY. WE NEED THE VISION WE ONCE HAD. ASK
GOD TO FILL YOU WITH THE JOY, LOVE, EXCITEMENT, THE
DRIVING FORCE TO LEAD OTHERS TO CHRIST |
