""AND LOT WENT WITH HIM""

Gen 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
Gen 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Gen 12:4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

GODS INSTRUCTIONS

        * GET THEE OUT OF THY COUNTRY - LEAVE THE SPIRITUAL AND OR PHYSICAL STATE IN WHICH YOU ARE IN. IF YOUR SURROUNDINGS ARE NOT SUPPORTIVE OF A CHRISTIAN LIFE, THEN YOU NEED TO RELOCATE.

         * AND FROM THY KINDRED - LUKE 9:23 WE ARE TO FORSAKE ALL, EVEN OUR KINSMEN. SOMETIMES WE MUST DEPART FROM THOSE THAT ARE OUR KINDRED, IF THEY DON'T SHARE THE SAME LOVE FOR GOD THAT WE DO. OUR FAMILY (WIFE/HUSBAND,CHILDREN) IS TOO IMPORTANT FOR US TO JEOPARDIZE JUST TO REMAIN IN THE CIRCLE. LOT WAS KINDRED AND MANY PROBLEMS FOLLOWED.

         * AND FROM THY FATHER'S HOUSE - BREAK ALL TIES. THIS WORLD HOLDS NOTHING FOR US. The command God gave to Abram, is much the same as the gospel call, for natural affection must give way to Divine grace. Sin, and all the occasions of it, must be forsaken; particularly bad company.

       * UNTO A LAND THAT I WILL SHEW YOU - INSTRUCTION GIVEN, DESTINATION OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!

GOD'S PROMISES

1. I will make of thee a great nation. When God
took Abram from his own people, he promised to make him the head of another people.

2. I will bless thee. Obedient believers shall be sure to inherit the blessing.

3. I will make thy name great. The name of obedient believers shall certainly be made great.

4. Thou shalt be a blessing. Good men are the blessings of their country.

5. I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee. God will take care that none are losers, by any service done for his people.

6. In thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed. Should we choose to live the kind of dedicated life that Abraham chose, we to could be a blessing to all that bless us.
